What to Expect
Your Session Length
The length of your session will depend on whether you’ve booked a Mini, Standard, or Deluxe Session. I’ve likely made a recommendation based on the amount of time and variety you’re hoping for, but if you’re ever unsure about which session is the best fit, please don’t hesitate to ask!
When to Arrive
Your session time begins at your scheduled start time. If you think you’re going to be running late, please communicate with me as soon as possible so we can plan accordingly.
If I have another client scheduled after you, I may not be able to extend your session, but I do my best to leave small buffers between sessions whenever possible. I recommend arriving 5–10 minutes early so you have a little time to make final adjustments, gather your things, and settle in before we begin.
If I’m the one running behind, don’t worry! I won’t count that time against your session. You’ll still receive your full amount of booked shooting time, or I’ll adjust the cost to reflect the amount of time we were actually able to use.
You Don't Need to Know How to Pose
Seriously, you don't need to worry about this part. I've got you!
With nearly two decades behind the camera, I have plenty of prompts, poses, and ideas to keep things moving and help you feel comfortable. I’ll guide you throughout the session so you’re never left wondering, “Okay… what do I do now?”
If there are poses or photos from previous sessions that you loved and would like to recreate, or if you have specific ideas you’ve been dreaming about, send them my way! The more notice you can give me, the better I can incorporate them into our session (and be sure to remind me when we meet so I can make sure they’re on our list).
A Little Structure + A Lot of You
My sessions are usually a mix of guided poses and genuine candid moments. I’ll give you prompts and direction along the way, but I also want space for the things that happen naturally - laughing, playing, cuddling, walking, and simply being together.
So don't worry about getting every pose "right." Trust the process.
Most importantly, have fun! Laugh loudly. Play with your kids. Snuggle your person. Let your personality come through. Some of my favorite images happen when everyone forgets about the camera for a moment.
You don't have to be perfect, you just have to be present. Fun translates into the final images, so relax, enjoy yourselves, and let’s make some magic. 🤍
